¿Como empezaste a hacer reggaeton? ¿A qué edad? How did you start making reggaeton music? How old were you?

Comencé a escribir musica a los 13 años y a grabar profesionalmente a los 15. Escuchando CDs como DNoise, DJ Playero, etc. Fueron las inspiraciones detras de mi gran interés por el reggeaton y música urbana. I started to write music at 13 years old and record professionally at 15. Listening to CDs from DNoise, DJ Playero, etc. They were the inspirations behind my interest in reggaeton and urban music. 

¿Qué te inspira? What inspires you?

Me inspira la vida. Amo despertar y saber que en cada día que Dios me regala puedo luchar para hacer algo grande. Para crear mas música y llegar al corazón de los demás. Life inspires me. I love waking up and knowing that each day God gives me, I can work to make something bigger. To make more music and reach the hearts of others. 

¿De qué se tratan tus letras? What are your lyrics about?

Mis canciones de reggeaton normalmente se tratan de amor de salir a divertirse y disfrutar la vida. Pero también escribo sobre los obstáculo para salir adelante como también lo que veo a diario a mi alrededor. My reggaeton songs normally are about love and going out and having fun and enjoying life. But I also write about the obstacles that get in the way of getting ahead that I also see around me. 

 

 

¿Qué le dices a la gente que cree que el reggaeton es ofensivo hacia las mujeres? What do you say to people who think reggaeton is offensive to women?

Pienso que si hay canciones que tienen contenido muy fuertes en cuanto a ofender la mujer pero en la mayoría de canciones de reggeaton alaban a la mujer, su poder y su control hacia los hombres. Osea mandamos jajaja I think that there are songs that have really strong content that could offend women but the majority of reggaeton songs praise women and their power and control over men. O sea we’re in charge hahaha

 ¿Qué es lo mejor de ser mujer en el reggaeton? What’s the best part about being a woman in reggaeton?

Bueno lo mejor es ver como el público siempre espera un reggeatonero y al ser mujer y sales a cantar todos se sorprender y me fascina ver su reacción al escuchar mi musica. Well, the best is seeing how the public is always expecting a male artist and when you come out to sing and you’re a woman everyone is so surprised. It fascinates me to see their reaction at hearing my music. 

¿Te gusta perrear? ¿Perreas con personas que no sean tu pareja? Do you like to perrear? Do you perrear with people who aren’t your partner?

Jajaja bueno a todos nos gusta perrear y claro, es una forma de bailar la cual personalmente me gusta mucho. Hahaha well everyone likes to perrear and obviously, it’s a form of dance that I personally really like. 

¿Qué opinas sobre la prohibición de reggaeton en algunos paises? Es impresionante que ocurrió en Cuba, y han habido momentos en que ciertos grupos han logrado prohibirlo en Colombia, Guatemala, y más lugares. What do you think about the reggaeton prohibition in some countries? It’s crazy what happened in Cuba, and there have been moments in which certain groups have fought to prohibit it in Colombia, Guatemala, and other places. 

Pienso que la musica no importa el género que sea no debería de prohibirse ya que es una forma de expresar lo que pensamos y sentimos. I think it doesn’t matter the genre of the music, they shouldn’t ban it since it’s a form of expressing what we think and feel. 

¿Cual es el futuro de reggaeton? What’s the future of reggaeton?

El reggaeton para mi nunca va a morir. Siempre estará hay evolucionando y motivando mas a cada artista vieja y nueva escuela a dar lo mejor y hacer que nuestro público siga disfrutando musica buena. For me, reggaeton will never die. It will always be evolving and motivating every artist, new and old school, to give their best and make it so our public keeps enjoying good music.
